SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system consists of a number of modules. Each of the modules covers certain business area of a company that uses SAP.

SAP Education has developed several certification exams for evaluation of knowledge and skills of SAP consultants in SAP SD implementation and customization. The name of the certification varies depending on the expertise level, for example:

SAP SD Certification for the first level is called:

1. SAP Certified Application Associate - Order Fulfilment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4
2. SAP Certified Application Associate - Order Fulfilment with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5

SAP EHP - Enhancement Package = Oracle CPU - Critical Patch Update

There are differences in the software versions (EHP4 or EHP5), but these differences are not related to SAP SD module. Currently SAP offers certification at associate, professional and master levels.

If you are completely new to SAP SD, it is probably a good idea to first get one of SAP SD Books and grasp some basics. On the other hand, it also makes sense to browse SAP Books if you are already experienced SAP consultant. SAP ECC (Enterprise Core Component)

SAP ECC is the main ERP software produced by SAP AG (Aktiengesellschaft).
It's history marks back to 1992, the 1st version of this software was marketed as SAP R/3 which was officially launched on 6 July 1992. It was renamed SAP ERP and later again renamed ECC (Enterprise Core Component). Since the launch of this software, SAP has dominated large business applications market over the years till today. 
SAP ECC 5.0 ERP is the successor of SAP R/3 4.70. The newest version of the suite is SAP ECC 6.0.
